Evidence / Review standards

Sources & editorial policy

Make the source, scope and limits of a reference clear enough to support a working decision.

Source selection

The directory prioritises official publishers: standards bodies, donors, UN agencies and the organisations responsible for a resource. Inclusion is based on relevance to humanitarian project development and funding, rather than endorsement or a commercial arrangement.

Review dates

The initial directory and guides were reviewed on 4 November 2026. A review date records when the reference was inspected. It does not imply that every document is new or that an opportunity is currently open. Editions and dated guidance are identified where material.

The reference directory is curated. The current opportunities list has automated source checks every six hours and automatic evidence checks for new or changed calls. EU, US and UK feeds supply candidates; a candidate is published only after official documents support its deadline, applicant conditions and country scope. UN and AICS calls are checked at their official sources. Where a source cannot be verified automatically, the record is held for review. Unverified changes and checks older than 48 hours are flagged. Verify the complete call and amendments before applying.

Guides and requirements

Practical guides are original editorial synthesis by Salient One. They are planning aids, rather than mandatory donor procedures, legal advice or certification of compliance. Current opportunity documents, award agreements and applicable rules determine requirements.

S1 integration

Links take readers to the canonical S1 tools. Screening datasets and country ratings remain on S1 with their methodology, coverage and dates. The hub does not infer legal status from a name match or project risk from a national score.

Reuse and attribution

Link to the relevant guide and identify Humanitarian SalientOne as the publisher. Linked third-party material remains subject to its publisher’s terms. The structured source directory is available as JSON; it contains reference metadata and our concise descriptions.

Corrections

Report a broken link, outdated claim or material omission to engage@salientone.eu, with a primary source. Substantive guide revisions should update the visible review date and the guide feed.
